What happens in the Pyjama Serene Sunday Sessions?
I loved running the Serene Sunday sessions at the studio. Now I am taking them online, with the specific intent of closing your week with serenity and gently encouraging your body into its optimal state for a deep and restful sleep.
With the intensity of modern life, we can easily become disconnected.
Restorative yoga is a delicious way for us to reconnect. The class combines philosophy and science. Using props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease, we explore the power of stillness and silence.
The class opens with some slow gentle movements to bring some fluidity into the body, progressing to a series of restorative poses and breathing and meditation practices.
The class closes with an extended savasana (relaxation) to enable you to let go completely. By dedicating time to rest deeply, you will gain more energy, reconnection and creativity.
My aim is to bring you back to you.
You will need: your Pyjamas (I will be) or some comfy clothing. You will need a collection of cushions and a few blankets, yoga blocks or a few books. If you have the bolsters and yoga blocks great but you don't need them.
I will provide a gentle playlist for the background which is optional.
The idea is that you literally roll into bed afterwards and rest.
The video below talks about the class a bit more and you haven't met me before you can virtually meet me.
I look forward to seeing you on the mat to spend some time reconnecting and coming back to your body.
The class is all floor based, the shapes are gentle and you will pad yourself with your props so you will be supported. The class should be restful.
